There have been many rumors and conversations about an incident/concern that occurred on 7-25-23 regarding children being trafficked in Tama County. My deputies responded promptly. With assistance from the Iowa State DCI and Iowa Department of Human Services (DHS), and my deputies' prompt response; thankfully it was determined that there was no indication or concern for child trafficking.
Child trafficking allegations are not and will never be taken lightly. Please be mindful of the conversations that are occurring regarding this incident.
